He has won many awards and nominations for his acting and directing, such as two British Academy Film Awards, three Evening Standard British Film Awards, British Independent Film Awards, the Empire Award for Best British Actor, Olivier Award and Tony Award nominations for Best Actor in The Ferryman, and many more.

His upcoming movies include Heads of State

His upcoming TV shows include House of the Dragon (2022), where he will play King Viserys I Targaryen.
