Idris Elba is a British actor and musician.
His full name is Idrissa Akuna Elba.
He is also known as DJ Big Driis or Idris when he performs as a DJ or a
rapper.
He was born on September 6, 1972, in London, England.
He attended Barking and Dagenham College and the National Youth Music Theatre.
He does not have a formal degree, but he received an honorary doctorate from
the University of London in 2014.
He has been married three times: to Hanne Nrgaard (1999–2003), Sonya Nicole
Hamlin (2006), and Sabrina Dhowre Elba.
He has two children: a daughter named Isan (born 2002) with Nrgaard and a son
named Winston (born 2014) with his ex-girlfriend Naiyana Garth.
His parents are Winston Elba, a Sierra Leonean Creole man who worked at the
Ford Dagenham plant, and Eve, a Ghanaian woman. His parents were married in
Sierra Leone and later moved to London.
